Editing: Editing in this film is the transitions between the shots, which are very subtle.

Characterisation:
Use of characterisation is slow and mainly show the boys ticks and other things that make him anxious. It shows the audience the way everyday things affect him and little things that help him cope.

Film 2:  Reflection- Medusa

Genre: Dramatic

Camera Work: Done digitally using animation. The digital camerawork used in this short film were:

zoom in,
pans and
 Mainly uses medium shot
long shots and
close ups within it.

Narrative: Medusa is looking back through her past and her feelings based on the people/ animals that she has turned to stone over the years. Her attention is drawn to a statue that was once her lover and then it cuts to a flashback to before he was turned to stone after Athena (a greek goddess) got upset with Medusas relationship with the man and cursed her to turn all that look into her eyes into stone. This film shows Medusas feelings/ sadness at being unable to be with her love. In the end her beautiful physique is shown to be a mirage as she reveals her more familiar Gorgan appearance (with snakes for hair) where she finally begins crying stone tears. The film is silent all except for the music which really conveys her emotions.

Editing: This was done using animation so it is all editing (a lot of editing is done in this short film).
cut to black. After the rest of the animation, the credits show up.

Characterisation: The character of Medusa in this film shows an alternative side to the legendary character from Greek mythology. In this interpretation we see the more 'human' side to the otherwise unfeeling character as is often portrayed. This made the short film more interesting and really pushed the narrative forward.

Visual Effects: Visual effects in this film is text (bible quote) in the opening before the animated story/ narrative begins and then the films Title cuts in from black then cuts back to black.

Narrative: A person uses Google glass like technology and is able to manipulate how he sees the world (using video games) and eventually goes on a successful date. At the end when his companion finds his dating achievements. She gets freaked out and he makes her forget.

Editing: In this short film a lot of games style inserts were edited in and the change between scenes (cuts) were edited in and transitions between shots.

Characterisation: The main character (the male), we find out is very manipulative and used technology to do things that we would consider immoral. We don't find out much about the woman he is on a date with in terms of character.

Visual Effects: Visual effects are those that are generated from the Google glass like technology and titles/ credits.

Film 5: Unwind

             Genre: Si-Fi

Camera Work: Extreme close up on the girl, Medium close up on the nurse and wide show when looking at or referring at other doctors in the room.

Narrative: A girl is going to get 'Unwound' to save other peoples lives. This goes through the process of being 'Unwound' from an outside perspective, seeing the nurse guide the girl through the experience. She does not 'die but just stops living'. This is based off of a book so to get more information you would have to read it.

Editing: The editing done in this video is the transition between shots, which is very quick.

Characterisation: The main character is going through the unwinding and we know she is scared. Anything prior or after the short film we don't know about her. There is not much development in her character except the unwinding.

Visual Effects: Are words from the book that the short film is based on
